The Trade Island of Kaplin
A weary-looking Human whose body speaks of years and whose eyes speak of both wisdom and wariness.
Frederick Isodore was born in Mar’Tesk to a mother and father who were Charoneers. When his mother and father found out that they had conceived they used the money saved across long years to purchase an inn with a small amount of debt to their name to be paid with 25% of the profits for the next ten years. For those first nine years of his life Frederick and his family lived extremely humbly, eating and drinking only things which went stale from their own stock. Once the debt was paid they lived better, but still simply. He married his childhood friend Iris and together they took over the inn. Across the years he had two children, a son and a daughter. Working as the innkeeper he heard the complaints of the people, and took the time to sit with them and learn their grievances. He talked with them about whether their problem was a significant issue in their life, and how they believed it could be fixed without harming another person or area of commerce. He helped people come up with solutions to their smaller problems, and set up voting blocks in the People’s Assembly for larger ones. When someone eventually asked if he would run in the next election he took naturally to it, and with the trust of the people he won on a fair vote against a good opponent. He does all of his official duties in the morning so that he can return to his inn in the afternoon to serve the patrons and spend time with his children.
