The Trade Island of Kaplin
Immeral is cluttered with ancient magical ruins of presently unknown history. What is currently thought is that several magically advanced civilizations (clearly at war with one another based on the constant unearthing of ancient military artifacts and magical weaponry) were locked in an arcane arms race until one of them finally managed to end all life on the island. Little is known, though, due to the unnatural lack of trapped spirits, or even evidence of writings in any known ruins. Though Immeral was originally discovered by Humans, many races call it home, especially Gnomes and Elves interested in the arcane ruins. Immeral has been constantly delving up magical ruins, artifacts, and weapons to study and trade, and many wizards have flocked to it across the centuries to study and build their knowledge. Immeral is dotted with cities containing most of it’s residents, but there are many excavation sites and wizard towers, as well as the odd ruin-turned-church or monastery. Most permanent settlements are far from the ruins for fear of children finding dangerous magical artifacts. The settlers of Immeral learned little from the apparent disappearance of the old inhabitants, and launched many campaigns against the neighboring islands for resources. They never managed to fully conquer another nation, and eventually settled down. Immeral was the first to call for the Trade Treaty of Kaplin, but only due to the fact that Beryl and Ardenvale would never have thought Immeral would agree to peace.
